Chelsea, Spurs and Newcstle
It was a big surprise to see Chelsea win the Champions League. I'm not saying they're a bad team, but they only finished sixth in the premier league, not the final position where you'd expect the Champions League winners to finish. But I'm not going to take anything away from them, they played well against a tough opponent and showed the world that the premiership is still the leading force in club football.
They're through to the Champions League next year and they deserve what they have achieved.
Spurs fans aren't going to be too happy with the outcome, especially seeing as the team that knocked them out of the champions league was their London rivals Chelsea. As a Newcastle fan I couldn't care less about spurs not having a place in the Champions League, I'm just looking forward to possibly meeting the disgruntled spurs fans in the Europa League.
If Newcastle are to do well in Europe then Pardew is going to have to strengthen the squad in all positions because the extra games will take a toll on the squads fitness. Pardew has already showed the Premiership what he can do, now he has the opportunity to show the rest of Europe. As a Newcastle fan I have faith in Pardew to make the right decisions in the transfer window.
