Chelsea, Spurs and Newcstle

It was a big surprise to see Chelsea win the Champions League. I'm not saying they're a bad team, but they only finished sixth in the premier league, not the final position where you'd expect the Champions League winners to finish. But I'm not going to take anything away from them, they played well against a tough opponent and showed the world that the premiership is still the leading force in club football. They're through to the Champions League next year and they deserve what they have achieved. Spurs fans aren't going to be too happy with the outcome, especially seeing as the team that knocked them out of the champions league was their London rivals Chelsea. As a Newcastle fan I couldn't care less about spurs not having a place in the Champions League, I'm just looking forward to possibly meeting the disgruntled spurs fans in the Europa League. If Newcastle are to do well in Europe then Pardew is going to have to strengthen the squad in all positions because the extra games will take a toll on the squads fitness. Pardew has already showed the Premiership what he can do, now he has the opportunity to show the rest of Europe. As a Newcastle fan I have faith in Pardew to make the right decisions in the transfer window.

Champions League Final

Tonight is Chelsea's game of the season. To be honest I thought that Chelsea would do a lot better than their 6th place finish, but im impressed by their efforts in Europe. Bayern Munich and Chelsea was not the game that I expected for the final, especially when Barcelona and Real Madrid were the favourites to play the final, but I think it should be a very interesting game tonight. If it did end up as Barcelona vs. Madrid then it wouldn't be any different to the El Classico, so i'm happy that the sort of 'under dogs' have got through to the final. I would like Chelsea to win the game mainly because they are an English team and I would also like to see Torres do well. However, it would be good to see Bayern Munich win because i appreciate the style of football that they play and they also have a very solid squad of players. I think this is going to be a very difficult game to predict, but what Campions League final isn't.

West Ham 2-1 Blackpool

West Ham are back into the premiership. I'm not entirely sure what to think about this. I have never had a problem with the hammers, but I don't know if they will have what it takes to make themselves a big premier league club again. Sam Allerdyce is the right manager for West Ham. He has good premiership experience and im looking forward to see what players he brings to Upton Park over the summer transfer period. West Ham didn't look too convincing at the beginning of the game when Taylor almost granted Blackpool with an easy goal, but luckily for him Dobbie's shot was kept out by Green. West Ham's goals came from Carlton Cole and Vaz Te. Blackpool's only goal came from Ince. Maybe next season Blackpool can get themselves back into the premier league.

The Premiership finale was this weekend and it didn’t disappoint in terms of excitement. Man United fans won’t be too happy with the outcome, but many people will feel that Man City did deserve the league title considering they beat united twice in the league and pulled out an almost impossible victory in the closing minutes of the game against struggling rivals QPR. Now that the season has finished managers will be strongly considering their purchases over the summer transfer market. This is where we come in. At Football 5-0 we will try to bring you the latest in the premiership transfer news and rumours over the summer break also supplying you with pre-season results and injury news.
